WINTER INDOOR 2024 - 2025
Rosters are limited for 2024 - 2025 winter season. You MUST try out if you are a new member to Team Blue Star.
WINTER SUPPLEMENTAL TRYOUTS WILL BE OCTOBER 23rd & 25th at PRINCETON DAY SCHOOL.
Fall Blue Star Players who did not hold their winter spot will need to attend and register for tryouts.
Blue Star Field Hockey Indoor
LETS GO into our seventh year of Blue Star Field Hockey competitive indoor field hockey season with excitement! Indoor requires a specific skill set that will help to develop your game for the regular season. Any athlete looking to compete at an elite high school level or move on to play in college should consider playing indoor field hockey.
Playing indoor will result in quicker reaction time, sharper stick skills and an overall greater understanding of the game. Indoor is played on a quick surface with 5 field players and a goalie. This unique game forces the athlete to think faster and play faster, ultimately elevating their overall game sense.
What is winter indoor?

Playing indoor will result in quicker reaction time, sharper stick skills and an overall greater understanding of the game. Indoor is played on a quick surface with 5 field players and a goalie. This unique game forces the athlete to think faster and play faster, ultimately elevating their overall game sense. Indoor field hockey has NO backswings or 3d skills. Lifted balls can only occur on shots. This game quickly improves your fundamentals, stickwork, & defense.
Indoor field hockey requires different equipment then outdoor field hockey:
- Indoor stick (lighter & thinner)
- Indoor glove: You must wear a glove on your left hand.
- Indoor face masks: Not required, but used on defensive corners.

Practices
U10
SUNDAYS: practices will be scheduled anytime between 9:00 -1:00 pm
TBD: One skill session a week @ Morrisville PA or Blue Star Performance Center
**Specific practice times will be released closer to the indoor season**
December 8th - February 16th (pending team)

WEDNESDAYS (alternating) & SUNDAYS or Mondays
December 8th - February 26th (pending team)
WEDNESDAYS - practice will be scheduled between 6:15 - 9:00pm
SUNDAYS - practice will be scheduled between 9:00 - 1:30 pm
MONDAYS - practice will be scheduled between 6:00 - 9:00pm
**Specific practice times will be released closer to the indoor season**
Tournaments
TBD
Each team will be scheduled for at least 2 - 4 tournaments throughout the season.
Tournaments will be within 1.5 hour driving radius.
Select teams will be chosen for: JPIL, NITS, NIFHF, Winter Escape, and Disney Showcase.

Expenses
1. The Indoor Season includes
- 11 practices (added December start to season!)
- Low player-coach ratio
- $600 (U10 and Bordentown practice location)
- $750 (all others )
2. Tournaments
- Tournament fees will be collected once the tournament schedule is complete. Payment plans will be available.
