REMINDERS & INFO TO KNOW

  • Equipment: Each player needs to provide their own equipment - shin guards, mouthguards, socks, shoes/cleats, sticks, goalie gear, etc. 
  • BSFH Team Store: During check-in, we will have a BSFH team store available that includes socks, scrunchies, t-shirts, pinnies & more! (Cash & Venmo)
  • Water: Ensure your camper brings enough water to last the day. Water & Gatorade will be for sale during camp (water - $2 Gatorade - $3)
  • Sunscreen: Please make sure to bring sunscreen. 
  • Snacks & Break: Each day does have a designated break time (about 30 minutes) supply your camper with snacks & food to fuel their bodies! DO NOT BRING PEANUT BUTTER SNACKS. We will have some snacks for sale throughout the week!
  • Journaling: We begin each camp day with a journal. Please provide your camper with a journal & writing utensils. There are limited journals for sale for $1 at the check-in table
  • Olympics: On the last day of camp (Friday), we do Olympic Day. Each camper will be assigned to a team & team color. We will be announcing Olympic teams on WEDNESDAY during camp to ensure campers have enough time to buy spirit wear & get creative (we are talking tutus, wigs, face paint & more!)
  • Special Guest Wednesday: We will have a special guest to run a Speed & Agility training on Wednesday! Our special guest is Coach John Torrey - a certified strength & conditioning coach. He is AWESOME!
  • Pinnies: If you already own a BSFH pinny, please wear this every day to camp. If you are new, we will provide you with a pinny that is yours to keep for the week. You can return the pinny or purchase it at the end of the week!
  • WEATHER: We will be monitoring the weather closely next week. Our goal is to run a safe camp. We will play in the rain, but we will NOT play in Thunderstorms. Please make sure your camper is dressed appropriately for the weather every day of camp. We will communicate updates through email & our Instagram account regarding weather updates (@bluestarfieldhockey)

What does a day at Hun Camp Look Like?

  • 9:00 am - 1:00 pm 
  • Kids are grouped by age/school 
  • Morning - skill sessions 
    • Journaling: Writing down goals & what we learn at camp helps keep us accountable & focused to achieve success both on & off the field!
    • Circuit Skill Sessions: Every day will focus on a new topic - foundational skills (dodges, passing, dribbling), offense, defense, possession, and more!
  • Afternoon: Tournament Team Play
    • Youth and Middle school/HS  tournament in the afternoon 
    • Teams are assigned Day 1 - Scrimmage with other teams, get to know eachother
    • Day 2 - 4 Tournament play - games count for points! 
    • Day 5 - Tournament bracket to reveal the champions!
  • Our last Day of camp (day 5) is considered OLYMPIC DAY!!! 
    • The semi finals/championship games of the team tournaments will be played!
    • COLOR WARS - ALL CAMPERS are placed on teams to play minute to win it, team bonding & field hockey games to win camp olympics!

We host an annual dance competition to close out the olympic day and give out camp prizes!!!!

Reminders & Info to Know

A few reminders & info to know:

  • Water: Make sure your camper brings more than enough water. There will not be shared water available!
  • Sunscreen: Please make sure to bring sunscreen. 
  • Snacks & Break: Each day does have a designated break time - supply your camper with snacks, gatorade, etc!
  • Journaling: We begin each camp day with a journal, please bring a notebook with you as well as a pen or pencil!
  • Olympics: On the last day of camp (Friday), we do olympic day. Each camper will be assigned to a team & team color. We will be announcing olympic teams on WEDNESDAY during camp to ensure campers have enough time to buy spirit wear & get creative (we are talking tutus, wigs, head boppers & more!)
  • Pinnies: If you already own a BSFH pinny, please wear this everyday to camp. If you are new, we will provide you with a pinny that is yours to keep!

Why Blue Star FH Camps?

We believe in using Field Hockey as a vehicle for empowering young girls to be confident in their abilities. As a sport, Field Hockey has been a major positive force in our lives. We also believe in using field hockey to build character, work ethic and teach life-long lessons. At Blue Star, our mission is to develop great young field hockey players and great young women.  

Blue Star Field Hockey Camps provide individualized instruction for beginners to advanced players.  Players will get the instruction and repetitions they need, from fundamentals all the way to college-level skills. Above all, Blue Star will ensure that every camp is a safe and fun learning environment! We provide skill building, team bonding, competitive tournament play,  and fun activities for all ages - like our annual Dance Competition and Olympic Day!

Blue Star Field Hockey is a USA FH sanctioned club. USA FH membership is required to participate in any Blue Star events.
